Holiday Breakfast Casserole
Ingredients
- 6 -8 slices bread (white or wheat), crusts removed
- 1 medium apple peeled and diced
- 1 lb. bulk sausage cooked (or crumbled links)
- 2 cups mile (or half-and-half)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 5 Eggs
- 6 ounces cheddar cheese shredded
Instructions
- 1.Lay bread in bottom of oblong 9x13? glass baking dish.
- 2.Sprinkle cooked sausage and apple over bread.
- 3.Sprinkle on cheese.
- 4.In a bowl, whip together eggs, milk, salt and dry mustard.
- 5.Pour egg mixture over all and refrigerate overnight (for breakfast) or all day (for dinner).
- 6.If freezing, skip the refrigeration instructions; wrap pan well; label and freeze.
- To serve:
- 1. Thaw completely.
- 2. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.
- 3. Let set 10 minutes before serving.
